Progress Bars

FS/2 displays function progress bars in the Message window to enhance function progress awareness while performing the following functions:

The display of progress bars is optional since a time-consuming summation of the task size is required for directory functions before the operation is commenced. Use the Global show progress bar option in the Settings notebook to toggle the state of the option. Each function dialog also has a check box to toggle the option. The function dialog is opened with the progress bar option set by the global option - which allows the user to disable or enable the option for the specific task about to be started.

If the progress bar is enabled for the current task, the directory summation process is shown in a Task Information window - which runs for all directory operations that has progress bars available. Included in the Task Information window is an abort button. Pushing the abort button during summation will abort the summation and immediately start the operation. Once the operation starts, pushing the button will cause a popup to allow pausing or aborting the operation.
