Foreground and background colors, as well as the menu font, of the Action Bar menu may be set by the user; for more information, see the section entitled Customization of the program.
The popup menus inherit the colors and font of the Action Bar menu.
The Action Bar menu may be removed from the display by deselecting the Show menu option in the FS/2 Settings notebook or using the menu option Windows->Hide/Restore Menu. The latter will toggle the menu in or out of the display. Using FS/2 without a menu is a viable option since all menu items are accessible from context menus. The Windows->Hide/Restore menu item is in the window Title Bar Menu and may be used to restore the Action Bar menu.
